As part of Mental Illness Awareness Week, NAMI Dane County is sponsoring its fourth annual Walk for Re search on Sunday, October 5th at Warner Park on Madison’s north side. Proceeds from the walk will be donated to the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD).NARSAD’s mission is to raise and distribute funds for scientific research on the causes, cures, treatments, and prevention of brain disorders, especially schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder.
NARSAD is the leading non-governmental research organization that funds treatments for mental illnesses. Since it was established in 1985, NARSAD has spon sored the work of hundreds of research scientists, and has paved the way for new and effective brain disorder treatments. You can help NARSAD continue to support brain disorder research by joining the Walk for Research, or by pledging to support a walker, or both! Simply fill out the registration/contribution form which you can download above and mail it to NAMI, along with your pledge check.
