For Youth and Young Adults
NAMI Dane County teen programs provide education, skills training and support for youth who have a mental illness or are experiencing mental health challenges. Our programs are recovery focused and provided at no cost to participants. Transportation assistance is available upon request.
NAMI Dane County education classes promote growth, healing and recovery for teens living with a mental illness or experiencing mental health challenges. All of our education classes are led by trained facilitators and follow a structured format.
Registration is required for all teen education classes and must be done by a parent or guardian.
- Honest, Open, Proud is a five- week workshop for teens, which guides individuals with lived experience through a process of learning about and applying principles of self disclosure regarding their mental illness and recovery.

- Community of Peer Empowerment (COPE) is a mental health promotion program for high school aged youth. COPE is an inclusive space for teens to build confidence, to gain coping skills, to use their voice, to explore mental health and wellness and discuss issues in their life, school, and society.
